Utilization of Dam for Stunting Reduction
Pilgrimage (hajj) is Islam's fifth pillar after the creed, prayer, zakat, and fasting that every Muslim who meets the demands of capacity, financially, physically, and mentally, must carry out at least once in a lifetime. Hajj is an annual type of ritual performed by Muslims around the globe by visiting and carrying out operations in several locations in Saudi Arabia.
According to data from the Ministry of Religion referring to the release of the government of Saudi Arabia, the total number of pilgrims coming to the Holy Land from all over the world in 2018 was 2,371,675. A total of 203,351 individuals came from Indonesia, or about 8.57% of the total global pilgrims. While Indonesia has a quota of 231,000 pilgrims in 2019, a 14 percent rise from the past year. Dam in Arabic implies all right. Dam in the form of blood is to kill an animal for certain offenses committed during the pilgrimage or umrah as a ransom (kafarat).
Dam was performed for several reasons, including First, because of the pilgrimage in combination with the performance of Umrah (qiran) and the first performance of Umrah before the pilgrimage (Tamattu). Second, one of the remaining pilgrimages is like in Mudzdalifah (one of the areas between Arafah and Mina, where all pilgrims take the opportunity to throw jumroh). Third, besides intercourse, do the ihram ban as perfumed. Fifth, violations committed on illegal territory such as hunting (Sabiq I/738)
